Description (from Bestiary)

A large, dangerous mammal omnivore. Will chase anything that approaches it. Fairly slow, but powerful. Unlike Brown Bear, likes colder areas. Not edible, but provides fur when hunted.

Description

The black bear is a large predatory mammal that lives in temperate and cold regions. It is dangerous and inedible, but drops Fur when hunted. Bears come in three varieties: Brown, Black, and Polar, which all based on the regional temperature of the biome they inhabit. Specifically, black bears have a black fur coat and lighter colored snout.

All bear variants are omnivores, meaning they will eat both meat and plants. They will eat all forms of meat, cooked and uncooked, including: Bacon, Bird, and Meat, as well as Pumpkins and Bread.

Bears are considered hostile, meaning they will attack unprovoked if you are seen. If you manage to kill one, the reward is well worth it. They drop 3-6 Fur and Rotten Meat when killed.

Habitat

Black Bears can be found in caves, wastelands, and snowy areas.

General Uses

Black Bears drop Fur, which can be used to make fur clothing. Black Bears can also be manually spawned in the Creative gamemode using a Spawner Egg.
