How I got here
I started playing Survivalcraft in the summer of 2014. I came to this wiki for some information and hoping to find some good adventure maps. What I found was a wiki that had been abandoned for months. There was nothing useful to me here at all. I checked back a few more times and was just about to give it up completely when I noticed there was someone with an active profile - and they were trying to adopt the wiki. We communicated some and found a very few others (slightly) active on the wiki.
The adoption was approved and ChartreuseNarwhal became the first administrator for the revival of this wiki. Since that time this site has more than quadrupled its size and many more people have joined to help continue improving it. In so few short months, this place has gone from a useless disappointment to the best source of information on the game and we continue to make it better every day.
However, I'm still a little disappointed that there are so few good maps made for this game. I played MCPE and MCPS3 before getting Survivalcraft and just loved some of the maps people had made for MCPE. The big city building maps are interesting to look at and marvel over but the maps that give real gameplay are the ones I'm referring to. Maps with danger to explore. Maps with adventure and challenge. Maps like a city sunk under water or one with 'sky islands' and limited resources.
The one thing I saw about Survivalcraft beyond the basic difficulty of survival was the tremendous potential of the electrics. To this day, I cannot understand why map makers have not come to SC to utilize the electrics so they can make their adventure maps with some advanced 'control mechanisms'. From early on, it became my personal goal to help encourage them to take a serious look at the electrics. I'm trying to put everything I know into finding ways to use the electrics in real adventure situations.
My background
My 'occupation' lists a few of the things I've done. As a real life engineer, I have designed many circuits and systems, from a remote-controller for big automatic office window blinds to very high tech medical equipment used during open heart surgery. I could probably teach classes in advanced mathematics. Over time, I have learned to program in nearly a dozen computer languages including assembly-level.
I have always had a fondness for architectural design and building construction. In high school, I took all the classes available in both, as well as all the advanced college prep classes.
I've also been gaming for a long time and I still have an old Atari system somewhere in storage. It worked when it was put away. I really like the openness of games like The Elder Scrolls - Skyrim and all the block games. But I still enjoy the simple play of 'old style' games like Stardust or Super Mario!
