Lure in those ankle biters using meat bait and watch as they come in like a moth to a flame.

Piranhas love to get in my pools or water sources. To defeat them, I usually throw some meat, fish or bird (Raw or cooked produces the same outcome) on the land near the water then piranhas will follow the flesh bait you've dropped. Then stand back a bit so they can't reach you and attack them with a melee weapon (I like to use bricks as a weapon since they don't break and you can throw them) like a machete, stick, etc.
