I've had the same experiences and actually proposed that possibility before, in the official forum. A couple other people said they thought it might be so, as well. It's hard to tell for certain because the temp/humidity/weather could change and make a new map look different. But I've definitely had the same world 'randomly' created several times AND spawned in the same place! It sort of makes it easier when I start a CRUEL world and suddenly realize that I've been there before.
