In Harmless you cannot directly die by cold itself, you'll receive a small damage, but due to faster health regeneration you'll regain quickly the health lost by cold.
Even if the screen is completely covered by ice, if you're completely wet, without clothes you won't die by cold itself.
EDIT: This is what happens if you try to do it... Nothing more than half heart of damage...
