Well, it's renewable but is not impact-free. Meaning it slowly eats up dirt. If you were to restrict planting to a specific area and not replace the dirt, it would eventually consume ALL the dirt and you could not plant more. So no, it's also NOT infinitely renewable...

For an extreme example, say you have a space station and only so much dirt is available. In this case, wood certainly is NOT a renewable resource, because dirt is NOT renewable.
