-Austin: Do you have references for your claim? Typically celestial bodies move AWAY from their primary (sun) over time due to their gradual slowing of orbit. Near the beginning of the Earth, the moon was much closer to the earth. It is moving away at a rate of about 1cm per year (it's been measured for decades). This is mostly due to tidal friction from the earth being so close, however. Planets move away from the primary due to minor but unending collisions with 'space dust', their daily tides and the effects of the solar wind. And the sun will likely explode long before then, anyway.

-PlantChampion: If the things you said were actually true, they still would not be PROOF, simply circumstantial evidence. However they are NOT TRUE. The ice poles are not melting - both ice caps have actually grown significantly in recent years. The alarmists claim the opposite because they only look at a very particular, very warm, small part of the ice sheet. That popular 'stranded polar bear' picture was proven to be faked.

- big storms are NOT getting worse, we only hear about them from louder voices. If you look into history more than a hundred years ago, there were BIGGER storms MORE OFTEN than now. The number (or percent) of people killed by violent storms has steadily DECREASED for as long as the numbers have been recorded. This is the first year in over a hundred that the US was NOT hit by a major hurricane. Some of the world had the coldest winter on record, this past winter. Much of the US had the mildest summer on record, this past year. The evidence simply does NOT support your theory.

The leading 'scientists' in this debate have been PROVEN to be lying to us by manipulating the numbers to justify taking millions in government grant monies. The infamous 'hockey stick" graph was proven to be FALSIFIED. To this day they still add in a 'fudge factor' that artificially raises the so-called official temperatures.

The 'godfather' of global warming, Al Gored predicted that within 20 years New York city would be under 20 feet of water from the melting poles, so we HAVE to do something immediately, right? That was over 30 years ago - - - - one more FALSE PREDICTION!!!

So many people treat this issue like it's a religion, they even want to emprison or execute the 'non-believers'! it wasn't that long ago that these same people were screaming about the big climate concern of that day - the great coming ICE AGE!!! And that was only back in the 1960-70's. The truth is that it has always been about the same thing - CONTROLLING PEOPLE (usually by taking their money).

In fact, the global climate has been changing - for BILLIONS OF YEARS! It was once little more than a ball of molten rock. It was once a massive ball of ice. It once had so much oxygen that any lightning strike immediately started a massive forest fire. It once had so much CO2 that nearly all life died on it. All those situations lasted for MILLIONS of years. Humans have only been on this earth a small fraction of that time. We are just lucky (or blessed) that the climate has been suitable for us at all! And I'm sure you've heard of the ICE AGES. Look up the "Maunder minimum" or the "little ice age" that happened only several hundred years ago...

I could go on but this is waaaaaaaaayyyy O.T. (but aren't most of the comments on this page OT?) and it will never be reconciled by discussion. A concensus of opinions does NOT make a single fact. If you want more info, there are websites run by scientists who were not brainwashed by the 'elitists'...
