This has always been a 'problem' with Survivalcraft. The reason is that while you sleep, all the predators within about 100 blocks can react to your presence and work their way toward your vulnerable body.

They can sense you regardless of how deeply you burrow. If you build shelter just below ground level with a glass roof, you can watch them all trying to spin in the single block directly over your head all night long.
