Suggestions -snakes. 0.5block tall and 2block long. Attack when you come too close(1block?) or hit it. But it will hit you only once or twice and flee, like real snakes do. If you get hit, you will slowly die unless you take antidote

-snares or weighed nets made of to ensnare animals
-Iron traps to catch animals 
-muddy water so you cant see whats lurking in the water

-electric igniter. Simi
